Default Copy and Paste issues in Outlook 2007

When I try to paste and picture into outlook 2007 photoshop elements opens. It's very annoying. Even if it is open already elements will pop up and I have to close it.

The picture does paste into the email but I want to stop elements from opening also.

Is there some setting I can change to correct this issue.

Gary

This one is odd.

Could you please tell me or you have the same problem when pasting an image Paint, and or it is only when pushing Control+V, or with right click > paste too.

Also, Try using Windows>RUN> msconfig
When on there, go to the Boot tab, and see or there is Adobe related stuff there. If so, Disable them, and Apply. The problem might be fixed after rebooting your PC then.

I don't use paint. I use photoshop <cs2, elements, image ready> and it happens when using right click on the mouse. I just tried using "control v" with both a gif and a jpeg and the same thing happens. Elements opens and the picture is then pasted into the email. One thing I forgot to mention is the picture does NOT open in elements. Elements is empty an the pic is in the email its just I have to wait for elements to open.

Gary

I checked mscon fig and there are not adobe related issues. This started out of the blue about 4 months ago. I have searched the internet and cannot find a single fix.

OK, I just found the issue. I decided to check element settings under "file associations" and there was a box checked to open .pse files automatically. I unchecked the box and pasted a picture into email with no issues.

Problem solved.

Well, I got the part that you used adobe stuff instead of elements, but the point of my question was, or that it's must outlook, or other applications as well.

Regarding your problem, I have never encountered a problem like this, but my 1st though is that it's something in the Windows Shell.

Thanks, I didn't think it would be a setting in elements. It popped into my head to check tho. Glad I did. Thanks for the help. It was your email that made me think to check.
