Instant search not functional because of continuing "indexing"
I have Office Outlook 2007, which I have been using for about a year. Just recently, I have not been able to search my inbox and other personal folders because when I type into the instant search box I get a message that the search may not be complete because Outlook has not finished "indexing". When I click the box for more details I am told that I have over 10,000 items being indexed, even though I have only about 500 to 800 items in all my personal folders combined. Almost always I get no results from a search, though sometimes I may get three or four emails, even though my search criterion should return many more. Also, the number of items which Outlook apparently "thinks" are in my personal files continues to grow larger and larger. What am I doing wrong? Am I somehow adding to the "items" other than those in my inbox and other personal files, and what are these items??
