![]() Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to get my outlook express to connect to the outlook web server that my company uses. I have the server name however when I try to setup my mail box it always says unable to reach server. do I need to let this idea go or set it up a pop3 or imap? thanks in advance. |

my understanding is outlook web server allows you to access your email via internet explorer (www.yourcompany.com/exchange) or something like that.

Okay, the only way that will work I believe is if your company has our exchange server sitting out on the DMZ of their network. Then, you will be able to connect to it via Outlook outside of the office and work as normal. Another option would be to connect to your employer via VPN, and then setup your outlook account. Just remember you will have to stay connected to VPN in order for that to work. Some companies (including mine) have a time limit set in place for VPN connections - which automatically disconnects the VPN session after 12 hours. Hope this helps.
