Question Sending Bulk Emails

I am trying to send group emails to people I have in my Outlook Contacts folder. I cannot see a way to do this wholly within Outlook so I have used Mail-merge with Word (both 2002).

This is working but for every contact an Outlook pop-up box appears
"A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?". I have to press 'Yes' for every mail that I send. This is taking a lot of time. I've looked for some way to disable this feature so that I can send in bulk but cannot find anything. Does anybody have an idea how I can either send either within Outlook or to disable the pop-up, please

You can create a distribution list, add the members to the list, then when you want to email the group, put in the name of the distribution list in the TO: field. This will send the email to everyone on that list.

Many thanks Shawn76, I appreciate your help. I'm afraid a distribution list only solves half of the problem. I need to send the email to each contact individually. Using the Distribution List it shows in the message every address it is sent to.

Thanks mwhitehouse, but this would not give me the personalised message to each contact which is what I need

Smile sending bulk emails

Hi,

Yes, the Outlook security prompts are a pain.

I think there's a switch in the popup that will allow you to set the amount of time until the next warning to something like 10 minutes. That quickly becomes old after about 20 minutes.

So, a company developed a utility called Click Yes (http://www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/). It will click the Yes button on your behalf, which is great, but some people consider this a huge security risk.

You might be better off upgrading to at least Outlook 2007 which won't suffer from this problem, or buy a tool that will do a mail merge for you like our (ahem) Send Individually (http://www.SperrySoftware.com/Outloo...dividually.asp).

Hope this helps!

Many thanks Mike, you have solved my problem. As I'm planning to upgrade both computer and software at the end of the year I've chosen Express ClickYes. I am having a look at your other add-ins though. Once again, Many thanks, Tony
