Default New Outlook Features (Business Cards, Tel Numbers)

Dell Pro Slim PC Computer

Windows 11 V 1000.29429.1000.0
Microsoft 365 Office Copilot V19.2512.49061.0
(Microsoft 365 Personal?)
Outlook V1.2025.1208.200

Hello:
I will be installing data from my older computer, which has Outlook.
It has the Business Cards and Phone Number Listing..
Q:A- Will the new Outlook have the above features?
Q:B When I am using the new Outlook, can I switch to the older version?
Q:C Will Microsoft terminate the new Outlook in the future? And if so
can I still use the older version?

Any help will appreciated,

Sy Se

P.S. 12-21-25 Googled and saw that if I am using Microsoft 365, it will contain the features of Business Cards and Phone Numbers..

A - New Outlook for Windows People/Contacts: Has only a single, fixed view of your Contacts that does include Phone, but it is just text on the end of the "Contact Info" field, not it's own separate field in the View. There is no Business Card View or form.

B - If you have purchased/subscribed to Classic Outlook you can switch between the two.

support for classic Outlook will continue until at least 2029
D - If you have purchased a perpetual license version of Office you can continue to use it past end-of-support.

I think the best choice for you is to subscribe to a MS 365 Plan that includes Classic Outlook, or purchase an Office perpetual license and do not try to deal with New Outlook at all.

1 - Buy a Microsoft 365 subscription that includes downloadable Desktop Apps.

As of May 2025 this is all plans except "Microsoft 365 Basic" and "Microsoft 365 Business Basic". But check this FAQ to be sure Microsoft hasn't moved the goal post.

Licensing in new Outlook for Windows | Microsoft Learn

For some subscriptions (e.g. MS 365 Family), the default installer does not include Classic Outlook. You have to download and install it separately.

Then configure it to always use Classic Outlook.

Use Classic Outlook, not New Outlook | Slipstick Systems

2 - Buy a license for Office Home & Business 2024 which includes Outlook 2024 for Windows. The latest version of the full featured, Classic, desktop, stand alone, perpetual license Outlook.

What version of Outlook do you have on your old computer?

Depending on the version, you may be able to simply move your existing Outlook program and data to your new PC.

Thanks for your reply.
My old computer has Outlook V16 installed.

Googling, again I have Microsoft 365 on my new computer. I understand it will contain the Business Card and Phone Listing features.

I have a lot to learn, reading the information you posted (articles/URL's to read) and also Googling for information.

Thanks again,

Se Se
