Default Outlook won't open

Hi All,

Yesterday, December 6th, when I tried to open Outlook from my Start Bar nothing happened. I tried several times, still nothing. I tried to open it from the installed apps area, still nothing even after I did a repair from the start menu it still won't open.

The only way that I can open it is through a browser like Edge, which is crazy because every other office program that I use works just fine.

Does anyone know why this has happened and show/tell me how to rectify the issue.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.

When Outlook refuses to open, I follow this procedure, which takes about 30 seconds.

1. Open the Task Manager. The hotkey is Shift + Ctrl + Esc.

2. Make sure you're looking at the "Processes" tab.

3. There are several categories in the list, starting with "Apps," then "Background Processes," etc.

4. Scroll through the list and find every instance of "Microsoft Outlook." The list is in alphabetical order, which will help you zero-in quickly. (There will likely only be one instance, and it will probably appear in the "Background Processes" category.)

5. Right-click each instance of "Microsoft Outlook." Choose "End Task" from the context menu.

6. Close the Task Manager, and start Outlook.
