Default Can't export .pst files

I'm trying to export my .pst files out of Office/Outlook 2019. When I get to export it says I need a Microsoft Office 365 subscription. Which I don't think I should need since I purchased Office 2019. I can't seem to get past this point. Any suggestions out there?.

I take it you mean you are trying to export your data to a PST? And you are following these instructions?

Export emails, contacts, and calendar items to Outlook using a .pst file - Microsoft Support

At what point does it tell you that you need a MS 365 Subscription?

Yes that is what I am trying to do. I need to export the data so i can uninstall Office 2019 and then install Office 2024. I am told i need a subscription here;
File - Open and Export - Outlook Data Files with note " Outlook Data Files require a Microsoft 365 subscription"

Weird. You are only suppose to see that from New Outlook for Windows, not Classic. And Office 2019 doesn't even include New Outlook.

Did you already start the Office 2024 install? That DOES have New Outlook as the default.

Check and switch if needed?

More strange stuff my Office 2019 does let me toggle between Classic and New Outlook. When I switched to Classic it looked like I could export data however all my emails were missing since I switched to New Outlook about a year ago. So I am still in New Outlook on the 2019 version.

As far as I can tell, Office 2019 does not integrate with New Outlook for Windows and there will be no option to switch. (I will assume that you installed New Outlook separately at some point).

Correct. New Outlook does not use local storage that Classic Outlook can see.

Are you using a Microsoft Cloud email account? (e.g. "xxxx@outlook.com")
If so, you should be able to add your Cloud account to Outlook 2019.
Add your Outlook.com account in Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

If not, who is your email hosting service (e.g. Google) and how do you connect (e.g. IMAP, POP)?

I appreciate your help. Yes I might have installed New Outlook somewhere along the line however I don't remember paying for it. The main email account that I use on this computer is a Gmail account. Is there a way to export that data so I can reinstall it into Outlook 2024?

New Outlook for Windows is free.

Not sure I understand. If you are connecting to GMail with an IMAP connection then all your current email should be on the Google servers. If you then also connect Outlook 2024 to the GMail account you should see the same thing you do in New Outlook.

Or does this not apply to your setup?
