I am trying to set up a new account in Outlook 2019, but it rejects my gmail password when I do a test email. I have double-checked at gmail website, and my password is 100% correct. So it is incorrect of Outlook 2019 to say:
"log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your email server rejected your login."
Any help appreciated.

Also in Win11/ControlPanel/email, the same problem rejecting my gmail email and password when 100% correct, so more evidence it is a bug in MS.

In addition to gmail, I also tried to set up Outlook for yahoo POP, but same error as with gmail - see attached photo.
To recap:
gmail POP
-Incoming: pop.gmail.com, Untick SPA , Port: 995, Encrypt: SSL/TLS
-Outgoing: smtp.gmail.com Port: 587 " "
yahoo POP
-Incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.com, Untick SPA , Port: 995, Encrypt: SSL/TLS
-Outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port: 465 or 587 " "

So this seems more like a bug in Outlook 2019. Any suggestions?

... I went into Account, User Information, and it said there was an account error.
See attached.
I clicked "fix me", and after a pause, it said I wasn't connect to internet when I was (see logged on symbol at bottom right of attached).
This telling me I'm not logged on when I am, seems a serious bug in Outlook.

There are plenty of bugs in Outlook 2019, but I don't think this is one of them.


Configuring email accounts requires wizardry skills. Despite the fact that I'm reasonably technologically savvy, when I set up an email account in Outlook, if my first couple of attempts fail, I call my computer guy! He always figures out a solution, and his fees are reasonable, especially in light of the years he spent learning and perfecting technological spells and potions! I actually have three different computer guys: one for software problems, and two for hardware issues. This closest is only 20 minutes away.



See if you can find a local wizard!
