I am moving from pesky Optus pop3 (emails blocked by yahoo, hotmail & sometimes bigpond) to gmail.
I set up new account on outlook 2019 with pop3 but gave up after hours when every test email I tried to get/send failed. I then tried imap which didn’t fail, but has 5 problems in Outlook: #1) it isn't enough to send an email - I have to send/receive after every send #2) the gmail receive for imap is slower progress bar than other 3 bars - see attached outlook10.jpg #3) random synchronizing of random folders, slowing down Outlook - see outlook11.jpg (bottom right) #4) on left, inbox and outbox is not indented, while draft, sent mail, trash & spam folders are indented - see outlook11.jpg (left side) #5) someone I emailed from my gmail account received email about 10 minutes before it finally went to my gmail/imap "sent mail" |
