Default Unable to "Send" in Outlook 2007

Thanks for reading.

I have been having this issue for about a week, I am unable to send emails. When I test my account settings I get this error:

"Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected"

GoDaddy hosts our email, and they have gone through diagnostics and blame the issue on my ISP. I work in an office building that provides T1 internet.

I talked to my ISP and they say the issue is not on their side (although they won't discuss particulars because I don't work for the company on the account) and no other email issues have been reported in the building.

So, I'm checking to make sure this is not an issue on the Outlook side. I have tried outgoing server ports 587, 3535, 110, 25, etc.

Internet Email Settings:
Server Information:
Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: pop.domain name.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.domain name.com

More Settings:
Outgoing Server:
My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication
Use Same Settings as incoming mail server

Any ideas? Thanks

With POP3 connections, the most common cause for error is how the account is configured.

If the incoming and outgoing servers are correct, confirm GoDaddy require SMTP authentication ( toggling this setting from On to Off)

Secondary, go to Tools > Accounts >, select your account > More Settings > Advanced.

If you SSL selected for Use this type of encryption connection, select Auto....

Keep us posted.

Do you get this error message every time you send a message? IS it only when you send to certain users? If it is only for certain people, you may want to check to see if they blacklisted you.

Also, the 554 error message...Is that the full error message? Is there more to it?

I get the error everytime I try to send a message. To any recipient.

This is the whole error message:

Task ' - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6F) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means.'

I tried all the Advanced settings options but nothing has provided a successful test send

Any other thoughts? Thanks for the help

Steve,

The sentance "The server responded: 554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation.", means you have been blocked from using that SMTP server and you will need to contact your service provider.

I would advice you to change the settings of the Outlook program.

I would request you to configure the advanced settings of the Outlook program and look out for the incoming and the outgoing server and the port numbers that you have assigned to your Outlook application.

Please follow the below link for the Go daddy:
