Outlook 2007 Auto-Reply: Help needed
Currently have 3 users setup for Outlook 2007 in the office. Each user's Outlook is setup to also enable them to receive the other 2 users' incoming emails.
(So User A for instance, apart from being able to receive his own emails, can also receive incoming emails of both Users B & C. Likewise, B & C can also receive the other 2 Users' incoming emails on their own outlook.) Now the problem is this: I have configured an out-of-office responder ONLY on User A's computer. Users B & C do not have any auto-replies configured at all.Now whenever someone sends an email to User A, they get an out-of-office reply not just from A, but from users B & C too! Have looked through the config rules again & again but cant seem to find anything wrong with them. Can someone guide me on what to do to solve this? Am really at my wits end? |

To aid you in troubleshooting your issue can you supply additional information on your current rule configurations.
1. You stated user A,B and C can receive each others messages. When a message is received by User A does it Get forwarded to user B and C? 2. Do usres B and C have rules created to forward to user A? 3. When a messages is sent to User A, and forwards to user B and C, do these messages get sent back to user A or remain in User A's inbox? 4. Confirm the OOA is not configured on user B and C Outlook client. Keep us updated so we can offer you assistance. |

Thanks for helping me out Spider. As far as I know, only rules created are out of office replies.
With regards to your questions: 1) Yes. Each user is able to receive messages of other users. The messages don' actually get forwarded, they just all receive the same messages as each user's outlook has also been configured with the other 2 guys' email accounts. 2) Nope, as mentioned above, messages don't actually get forwarded 3) Whenever any user forwards any message to another guy, user A to B for instance, user C will receive it too. 4) OOA is not configured for User B & Cs' Outlook Please advise.. |

Are these three exchange accounts or are these IMAP configurations?
I have performed testing using one exchange and 2 IMAP configurations and i,m able to select the account i want to configure and it does not effect the other accounts. Keep me posted |

Nope these are not exchange accounts nor do they use IMAP configs. Just normal SMTP / POP configs.

Ok the Out of Office reply sends a reply to all incoming messages per sender.
It is very possible since you are configured using POP connections a reply is sent for each connection as the message is pulled to the client then a reply goes out. You can test this locally by removing User A from User B's client. Send a test message to User A and see if you get 2 responses. I will continue to search on why this happens in a non exchange environment. best Regards |
