Default Outlook 365 spellchecks entire mail thread although the 'Ignore' option is enabled

1. One of my users reports that Outlook randomly and sporadically spellchecks an entire email thread (in replies and forwards) although the "Ignore original message text in reply or forward" option is checked in File > Options > Mail.

2. Online Office Repair has been performed previously, and this is the only user reporting the issue. Is there a registry hack that would fix this, or anything short of installing and reinstalling Office?
