Default Fowarding Email

Last year I decided to forward my outlook email to one of my gmail accounts. This worked OK but after a while I decided to stop this and reversed the forwarding request in Outlook. However, despite many months I inconsistently get Sent outlook emails appearing not in Outlook Sent Mail but in my Gmail Send Mail and today received an email response, that I sent from Outlook, not in my Outlook Inbox but in my Gmail Inbox. It seems somewhere deep in the 'system' there is still a fragment of my Forwarding set up. Any advice on how to stop this appreciated.
