Apply Rule with a unique exception
Hi,
I've 2 rules, one that looks at keywords in senders domain and the other in recipients domains. Then applies a Category, basically to weed out the people outside my domain. Then, I use Conditional Formatting to change color of email read/unread if it's from External's category. Now there's one person that's outside my domain, however he's our resident engineer. So, I want to exclude him from triggering the rule, or basically omitting him.. If I set a rule with exception, "except if" then all emails he's in are ignored regardless of other External domains in the email. As in, Category not applied to all.. How to come up with a rule or vba that will omit applying the rule if he's the ONLY external domain? If there are other participants under the same external domain or other external domains, then the rule shall apply. Yes, I can write it myself for sure. Looking for the easy way out here, if someone already has something like this. To give an example: My domain: microsoft.com Outside domains: google.com, yahoo.com, etc. My resident engineer email: resident@microsoft.com and resident@google.com. email could be from either or he can be in the CC or in the TO. Filter looks for: google.com, yahoo.com in the recipient and senders email and applies External category. This is for work laptop. Win10 x64, MS365 Office 2016... I've scripts enabled in Outlook and already run few macros. Thanks! |
