Default Outlook 2016 seems to be invoking 365 and downloading data files

I use Office 2016, and recently installed it on a new replacement laptop. Got the user accounts set up, but now, when I start Outlook, the window says its MSFT 365. In addition, it attempts to download one of the email account data file.

Why, with 2016 installed, does the start up indicate 365? And, why is it attempting to download one of the email account being downloaded?
