Default How to use Outlook 365 with Gmail pop account?

I am using the latest version of Outlook 365 as a POP/SMTP client with my Gmail account as host. Right now I need to have “Allow less secure apps” turned ON so I can have access to my Gmail account. I am trying to find how to set up my accounts to continue using this setup after May 30th. Currently, if I turn that setting OFF Outlook cannot log in to Gmail.

I’ve found many references to this subject, but it’s like so much noise to me. Can anyone refer me to clear, step-by-step instructions on how to properly set up Outlook 365 as a POP/SMTP client with my Gmail account? Certainly there are hundreds of thousands of people affected by this. Does Google have clear instructions on how to do this?

Thanks - Dave
