Default Outlook 2019 Emails showing up on laptop

This HAS to be something dumb, but I'm not finding it when I search.

Desktop and Laptop both running windows 11 Pro. Both also running Office 2019.

I DON'T recall this happening when I had Windows 10 on both. But when I updated the desktop I reinstalled Office 2019.

Desktop is on all the time. Laptop is on when I need it. If I start the laptop and open Outlook, a bunch of messages in the Inbox (and maybe elsewhere) on the desktop, some new, some I've already read, get put on the laptop. I can't find anything in Outlook that tells it "as soon as Outlook gets this message, delete it from the server".

I can find something in EACH email address that says "Leave a copy of messages on the server and "Remove from server after 14 days"...

Why would I want it to do this? And if I DON'T is there some global setting in Outlook that makes it stop 'cause I don't want to have to change EVERY email account on both systems?
