I have used Gmail as my personal email server for a number of years. I would now like to utilize Outlook for managing emails. I have been able to both send and receive emails using Outlook, however, my sent emails do not appear in the Outlook "Sent" folder, but DO continue to appear in the Sent folder in Gmail. I have checked and double-checked that "Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder" is checked under File>Options>Mail>Save messages.

Thoughts on how to resolve this?
