Rules limits in Outlook 2007
Hi all, I'm trying to determine what sort of "limits" Outlook 2007 has on rules. I've googled and have found information on "total size" of rules if using Exhcange Server - which I am not. It's a standard Pop3 account. I have over 500 contacts and need to make a Rule for each one, thus the question. All input appreciated... |

What would you like these rules to do? Most rules, when set up, are to move message items to a specified folder.
Supply a detailed depiction of what you want these rules to accomplish , we then can assist if Outlook will be able to do this. |

Thx for the reply SpiderTech. I am, however, confused by your question. How does the "type" of rule relate to my question regarding the "limits" imposed on the size or number of rules allowed by Outlook?

The reason for inquiry is simple, It is very possible outlook will nt be able to create a rule specific for your needs.
There really is no set number of how many rules you can have. This limit is actually based on how much space the rules take up. With each rule being a different size you would have to wait until your excahnge server starts rejecting the creation of additional rules. Note: the more updated exchange platform you are currently on, the more rules you can create. If you require additional assistance in attempting to creating a rule in Outlook, just explain what you want done and i'm sure the commuity can help out. |
