Will switching from Office 365 to Office 2019 solve problems
I have had Office 365 for a couple of years and Outlook for emails worked fine until the last couple of months. The email site gets hung up "synchronizing trash".. I've had a couple of long sessions with MS people trying to fix the problem but have come up without a fix. I have no idea what started the problem and the MS people have taken over my computer to try and find the answer. I am letting my Ofrice 365 run out and have switched to another email client. I prefer the Outlook program for my emails and was wondering if I started over with Office 2016 or Office 2019 instead of 365 if there is a chance I could get it straightened out. If not does MS offer help for those programs. I now very little about computers and I am not sure that this is the proper forum for my question. Thank you for your comments. |

Office 2019 and Office 365 are essentially the same product. The key difference is in the licensing.

I can't be sure. I went on the MS website and followed the links to get to a telephone number for help info. Thanks for you comment about Office 2019 and 365. Guess I'll just have to stay away from MS product.

The problem is unlikely to be related to the MS product, as such. You may have a faulty Office installation, in which case repairing or reinstalling it should resolve the issue. Alternatively, the problem may be related to a rogue third-party addin. Or there might be a configuration problem in how you have Outlook set up.
To test whether a rogue addin might be responsible, start Outlook in safe mode (i.e. hold down the Ctrl key while Outlook starts, or run Outlook.exe/safe from the Win-R pop-up). If that resolves the problem, start Outlook normally then disable all addins. Having done that, progressively re-enable them, doing whatever you were doing that triggered the problem until the problem re-emerges. Then delete the addin you just re-enabled and either uninstall or replace it. I see you previously discussed this issue at: Outlook keeps hanging up when "sychronizng trash" - Microsoft Community where in your last post you said "I think everything is ok now".

Thank you. I will try your suggestions. When I said everything was ok it was because I switched to another email client. This has been very frustrating. Now I can't even find a phone number to MS help line. Not a very friendly system for someone untrained. I will keep you informed.

Thank you all for the info. Nothing seems to help my situation. I'm sure it is me or my computer messed up. Guess I'll stick with another free email client and save the $75 and alot of frustration. Thanks again
