Auto complete problem
I recently updated the OS on a Windows 10 Pro computer, running Office 2016. After this update, Outlook keeps unchecking the Use Auto-Complete to suggest names option after exiting Outlook.
When I recheck it to enable it, it works as it should. Sometimes when I exit and go back into it, it will remain checked, but usually not. I've scanned the computer, no bad software found. Windows 10 Pro Ver 1909 Build 18363.1500 Is there a registry edit I can do to keep this enabled? It was doing the same thing with the Save Sent e-mails in the Send folder, but I found a registry setting to keep that enabled. I cannot find where I can do this for the Auto Complete. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you. Kevin |

I have the exact same problem, and all of my reminders are automatically dismissed after they are presented one time. I also don't have an option in File > Options > Advanced > Reminders section to automatically dismiss reminders for past calendar events.

If I can't come up with a solution, I'm going to roll back the update, see if it fixes the problem then re-update. I've had to do this once before on a computer for a different problem, the it fixed it.

solved - but the solution sucks
I was able to fix this problem, but I don't like the solution.
This problem started when Microsoft forced me to update Windows Security KB5001337 and KB5001406. Microsoft will not let you uninstall this, saying it's required. After trying unsuccessfully to uninstall the upgrades, I tried doing an online repair option that Microsoft provides. After reinstalling office, not only did it not fix the problem, now it said that my version of office was no longer activated. The product key for this is Who Knows Where. So I uninstalled Office 2016 and installed Office 2019 (downloaded a retail version from the web) and the problem has been resolved. I may have been able to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling office 2016, but it was a downloaded version and, as stated above, I have no idea where the registration number is. So. it's fixed, but the solution sucks. I hope this helps someone out. Kevin |
