Default Outlook 2010 vs 2007 - multiple email accounts

I use 4 email accounts. In previous versions of Outlook all Incoming and all Sent mails appeared alltogether in folders under 'Favorite Folder'. I found this very convenient.

I have just set up 2010 with my accounts and find that each account has its own set of folders. I find this to be very incovenient.

I would like to revert to all In/Out mails showing together in Favorite Folder - is this possible in Outlook 2010?

I see that 21 peeps have viewed this - do none of you have any suggestions? does that mean that MS have again 'improved' things in a way that some of us do not want?

PLEASE - if you view this, do give me your thoughts on mutiple email accounts and Outlook 2010... thanks.

Just like Outlook 2007 you can right click any folder, e.g your account Inbox, and you can add it to your favorites.

This has been the same functionality since 2003.

Note: If you have client side rules that move messages form your Inbox to a designated folder you will need to add each folder to your favorites.

Enjoy

Thank you very much for your input SpiderTech.... I have now done that and at least I have a smaller spread of lines to look at BUT still all are shown as separate accounts. What I had in 2003 and 2007 (without any special clicks) was ALL Incoming from all accounts showing only in Incoming (same for Sent). Is there a way that I can achieve this in Outlook 2010?
Best to you.

Unfortunately not from my research. I have checked and double checked. It would appear there are no options to combine the favorites folders.

This seems intended to keep messages separate for each account. You can, not recommended by me, create a client side rule to have all message going into one account moved to a specified folder. You can then create rules to have all mail going into one folder.

Hope this information was helpful.

Thanks again S-T.. but I can assure you that in my versions of 2003 & 2007 it was automatic that all incoming/semt/draft/deleted mails were in single In ans Sent folders under 'Favorites'. Can send you a screen shot.

I have now been able to partly achieve this for each mail account in OutLook 2010 by clicking 'Show in favorites' for Inbox and Sent....... but it's still a PIGS EAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But this is such apity ... danged MS, they change instead of just improving software.. should keep same programmers on development so that they know from where the software has grown/developed.

I would be very pleased to have a direct email contact with u if poss. crjm@talktalk.net...
