Outlook exits unexpectedly when clicking "run rules now"
Windows 10 - Microsoft Outlook 365 16.0.13001.20266 32 bit.
I have been running outlook happily for some years with a rather long and complex set of rules. In the last week I have noticed that if I go into the rules editor and click "run rules now", the outlook application exits and restarts. I also see this with other operations within the rules editor. At first I though one of my rules had somehow become corrupted and I needed to run SCANPST or something like that, but I am seeing this on two different computers each with local outlook files, which strongly suggests a newly-introduced bug / incompatibility between the latest version of outlook and one or more of my rules. Looking in the event viewer I see "Application Error" Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 16.0.13001.20266, time stamp: 0x5ef262ee Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x143c55e0 Faulting process id: 0xe86c Faulting application start time: 0x01d653e38c586d6d Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: a98f9bd3-66f4-4733-8739-f75165d409cb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: anyone else seeing this? I think my next step is to try to remember how to back down to a previous version of outlook. I have a note somewhere how to do this, but it has been a while. Thx for the help Ben |
