Default Outlook contacts merged (Linked?)

I have two contacts that somehow have become merged (linked). I have deleted both and recreated and the same problem reoccurs.
The mail addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses appear in both contacts, etc.
If I try to send an email to one contact, it shows the name of the other contact and vice versa.

Running Windows 10, with Outlook 365 (Business Standard).

Thanks for any assistance.
