Default Problems updating draft emails

This started a couple of months ago, everything worked fine up to then.
If I start an email and save it to the Drafts folder, then open it and amend it, I get the following message - " The item cannot be saved because it was changed by another user or in another window. Do you want to make a copy in the default folder for the item?"
NB there is definitely no other user or device involved, I'm working purely on my laptop.
My only real option is to say yes to the question, and then my updated version appears in my Inbox, and only the older version is in the Drafts folder. On the plus side I don't lose any work, but it's very fiddly - and as I said it's a recent problem.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.
