Auto Complete Feature Outlook 2010 Sending Emails
Due the MS support of Windows Live Mail 2012 to be discontinued I am moving email to Outlook 2010. I have already noticed a problem with 'Auto Complete' email addresses while sending emails. I have just under 1K contacts in my list. I have finally added to the Auto complete file and it works somewhat. BUT I only get the email address 'Auto Complete', which isn't always indicative of the person's name. The alias could be anything without the proper name reference, if you know what I mean. For example if I had a contact 'Ken & Wanda Summers' email:lagonesouth@gmail.com and typed in WAN in the TO field of the message box I get nothing.
If I go to the CONTACTS search field folder in Outlook and type WAN it finds the contact entry and shows the email as well as all the other record data. I think there is some logic missing. I would think it should search the name field and show the name, and email of that contact. How many of your contacts have any resemblance of their name to their alias's? I used WL Mail 2012 for years and they had it figured out with no problem. Can I change the search function to search for the name and when I select the right name it completes with the right email address? (email addresses always have @ symbol). Illogical?? In other words - Can I make it search for the Name, and once selected, use the email in either of the TO/CC/BCC fields?
