![]() Out of nowhere this morning, these pink parenthetic-like tags (after a little research, I believe these are Custom XML Smart Tags?) started showing up in my Email Signature. While I realize that these can't be seen when the email is sent, they're annoying the **** out of me. Anyone know how to remove these? I have followed instructions to remove smart tags, and nothing is working. They're pink, they look like big, fat parentheses, and I want them gone. Can anyone help? Thanks! Edit: Now I cannot type capital letters in Outlook unless the Caps Lock is on...... Last edited by amanno1; 08-05-2010 at 08:21 AM. Reason: additional issues |

from the Tools menu, select Customize
select the Toolbars tab check the XML Structure box on your new toolbar, there should be a little checked box labeled "Show XML tags in the document" uncheck it! this worked for me, I hope it solves your problem (at least one of them) |

This posting inspired me to find the solution for the same problem in Outlook 2003. I could not find an "XML Structures" box under the toolbar tab as was suggested in the first post for Office/Outlook 2007.
But in Outlook 2003, under Tools / Customize, choose the middle tab "Commands", in the left menu Categories, choose "view", then in the right menu Commands, scroll down and find the button "Toggle XML Tab View", then drag this button out of the menu and drop up in your Outlook toolbar, then click it. Voila! The pink xml tags vanish. Lee |
