Default Phone number formatting

There is a behaviour in Outlook contacts where it reformats the numbers I put in for my contacts.

Is there a way to turn this useless and annoying "feature" off so it leaves my numbers as I put them in?

Thanks,

Mark

Not sure there is an option to adjust the format of contact phone numbers in Outlook.

I also use Outlook 2010 and you are correct the auto format is (212) 555-5555

If someone does have a work around or knows where the option is located please share your knowledge.
