Otlook Home > Cleanup won't clean any duplicates

Hi!
Outlook's built-in function for removing duplicate emails (Home > Cleanup) suddenly does not work anymore and I am not able to delete any duplicated email.
I'm using Outlook 365 version 1906, build 11727.20244 (32 - bit).
I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this.
