mailto links not working in outlook

Hi,

im hoping that someone here can help me.
For some reason today I went to click on a email address link within an email I have.


However it did not work - and a pop up box appeared in Outlook saying "Access is denied".
I also tried clicking on an email address contained within a website and this did not work either - nothing happened.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix/resolve it??

I am using Office 2007, and have all patches and updates installed.

I have attached a screen grab of what is happening to help.
