Default Cannot save an opened message

Each time I open a message, download the pictures and then try to close down Outlook 2016, a dialogue box pops up "Want to save your changes?" If I select "Yes" the dialogue box states "The item cannot be saved because it was changed by another user or in another window. Do you want to make a copy in the default folder for the item?"

This has only started appearing over the last week or so? How do I fix this issue?
