Exchange Security Certificate Bypass
I am trying to set up Outlook 2010 from home, and connect to the exchange server at work. It's a small business, nothing we send or receive is confidential, so we have a personally signed (and long expired) security certificate for our exchange server. I have no access to the private key, nor will I be granted access to it, nor do I know how to get in touch with the IT employee responsible for the server's maintenance. My question merely pertains to how may I set up an exchange account in Outlook without it blocking my attempts to connect? Whenever I attempt to connect to the exchange server, I get an error message that the certificate is not from a trusted source, and thus outlook refuses to connect and closes. I just want to accept the certificate, even though it is not signed by a "trusted source".
Any help is greatly appreciated. I should also add that setting up and using the exchange server on my iPhone works flawlessly, and the computers in the workplace have no qualms about accepting the expired and personally signed certificate. |
