Signature function not working?
I'm a newbie running Outlook 2007 under Windows 7 (32 bit). When I follow the instructions to create a signature, I click on Signature, but the window entitled, 'Signature and Stationery' with 2 tabs doesn't appear? Can anyone help? Thanks Pete |

Are you saying that you can't set up a signature or that after you set it up, you can't access it.
To set it up with 2007, I do this: Make sure you are in a mail section- the options don't work in other sections. Click tools in the top menu. Click options Click mail format Click Signatures The window that pops up from that should let you create a signature. I can't find another option to get that window. If no one has a better idea, you might consider reloading Outlook. |

Thanks for the reply. I can follow the instructions without problems, but when I click on 'signatures' the little window with two tabs doesn't pop up. This relates to trying to create a signature. I believe it's an installation problem ie, the program that provides that feature isn't running. I tried this on another computer with the same software and it works exactly as advertised. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Outlook several times to no avail. Any more ideas?

It's a long shot, but you might try opening a new email. Click signature from the ribbon menu at the top. The drop down has a link that launches the signature window. Maybe accessing that window from a different place will cause it to launch.
Beyond what we've already discussed, I'm kind of shooting in the dark. A registry repair might be helpful. An online update and repair from MS might be helpful. Anyone else have an idea of how to repair Outlook for this? |

Thanks again. Another clue is that when I go to: Tools/Options/Mail Format there are 3 buttons at the bottom of window (stationery, signatures, and editor options). None of them have any effect. This suggests that a number of pieces are broken!
My computer has a bit of a different startup. It books directly to a non-admin Visitor account from which I log off and log into my Admin account. The Visitor account uses Parental Controls to limit program access. Typically when I install programs that are set to install for all users I have to play a few games to convert it to the Admin only account. I'm wondering if this is somehow killing certain parts of Outlook? |

Update: I just solved it by unblocking all programs in the Office program folder. Now I may try to figure out which of the 12 or 15 programs was causing the issue. Thanks a lot for your help!
