Outlook 2016 - IMAP - Deleted message doesn't go to Trash or Deleted Items
Hi all, I've searched Google countless of times, nearly read all info I possibly can on it. Then I found this forum. Maybe you have had the same problem.
I've got two IMAP accounts in Outlook 2016. The one account seems to be working fine. When I delete a message it goes out of Inbox to Trash. However, with the second account, when I delete the message it stays in the Inbox, no strike through or indication it's been deleted. It does show up in Deleted Items though, but still appears in Inbox. (account 1 goes to trash and other to Deleted Items?) The second account's advance setting has a tick on "Purge Items when switching folders..." so does the first account which is working fine. I have gone to File > Options > Mail and the setting there was move to "Trash". So I believe that both accounts deleted mail will move to Trash in their own accounts. In short, 1st account deleted message moves immediately to Trash. 2nd account's message still displays in Inbox and in Deleted items. So, what does the first account has that the second does not? Totally puzzled! |

The only way to resolve this was to delete the imap accounts and data files en re-add the accounts.
