Default Attachments Disappearing From Inbox After Replying

Hi all,

I've had a couple of emails sent to me with attachments. I've opened them up reviewed them and closed them down. I've then replied to the emails come back to my inbox the next day and the attachments have gone. I can still see the email in my inbox but there is nothing attached to them. Any ideas?

I've also found another email that came with attachments, I forwarded that on to somebody else. The attachments are gone from the inbox but luckily remain in my sent.

I'm using 2016 outlook on windows. I have tried the desktop program, the app on my phone and online login via outlook.com.

Thanks
