Default "outlook task"

When Outlook tasks are assigned, the recipient gets a plain text message
without the "accept" and "decline" features. What is misconfigured?

This is a non-exchange environment, using Outlook 2000. An Outlook 2003
client works propoerly in the same environment, whether the client is Win 98
or XP pro/home.

Force the message to go out in Rich Text Format - double click on the mail
address and select the option to send using Outlook RTF.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, bmccuskee asked:

Default Cannot assign tasks

Hi, I am new to this forum.
Problem is that I when ever I assign task to anyone, it just shows as an email without accept or decline buttons. However the calander meeting requests do show accept and decline button.
This is a non exchange envoirement and using outlook 2003. Can it be configured. I already tried sending task requests in RTF format.
Please help if you can.
Hasan
