Default Outlook 2007 freezes while performing search of inbox

I have Office 2007 installed with Outlook under Windows 10 64-bit.

I've been using Outlook Since Office 96/97 and can't recall having problems with it's search function.

Every time I enter a search string for Outllook 2007's Inbox, Outlook 2007 freezes and the only method for it to become unfrozen is to use the Task Manager to end Outlook 2007 Task.

Same thing occurs if e.g. I try to search a specific folder. So it appears the search function is broken or perhaps a Windows 10 issue?

I don't really have a use or need the additional features and functions however to have MS Office more compatible with Windows 10 should I consider upgrading to MS Office 2010, 2013, or 2016?
