Followup Flag Field to NDR changes text to asian characters

Hi All,

I have a weird order of operations issue where a user has the FOLLOW UP FLAG text field displayed in there view. When he gets a Undeliverable email returned he edits the follow up flag field with a comment and the email is instantly converted to what looks like an Asian Character set, this cannot be undone or recovered. It ONLY effects the individaul email and adding comments to other emails (that are not undeliverables) by editing the follow up flag field has no bad effect and behaves correctly. Our machines are 100% English language with no other languages installed.



We are running Office 365 (Outlook 2016) on Win 10 and Win 7 machines and I can replicate the issue on other machines by adding in the followup flag text field enabling infield edit, sending to an email address that doesnt exist. Taking that replied email and adding a comment in the follow up flag field. Press enter and it becomes unreadable.

Cant find anything online that appears to be related so hoping someone here has seen or dealt with this before. Any help would be Greatly appreciated.
