Default outlook 2010. filling in receiver fields

just onto outlook 2010. previously when went to fill in any of these fields the first letter caused a drop-down menu of most common recipients from which to choose their email addresses. now i no longer do. When enter the first letter it is only it that appears.

i found the previous way advantageous as it was almost always to one of these contacts that i wanted to send something to.

so does anyone know how to establish this or is it simply a history that 2010 does not yet have?

failing that is there any way to choose a certain number of contacts from that list then send an email to those contacts only? and how many contacts could be included? seems to me that there's a limit?

thanks. trying to send change of phone number and email. to probably several hundred of my contacts.
