Time lag downloading Gmai into Outlook 2010
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a time lag when downloading emails from Gmail's POP3 servers.
I have had my copy of Outlook 2010 setup to download mail from Gmail's POP 3 servers for years and recently I've noticed that it's taking about 16 seconds for my mail to being downloading. Once the download begins my email appears to populate in my inbox as it always has but it's this initial delay that's causing me concern. Note that I recently had to change my inbound password from my regular Gmail account password to a Gmail "application password" because I had to switch my account password to multi-factored authentication but at the time that I switched to the application password and I saw no lag in the download speed. Today I switched my application password but after the change I saw no difference in the speed lag. The only other change to my system was the patches made recently by Microsoft that are designed to mitigate the Intel chip security flaw. Bottom line is that I can still receive mail just fine but there's a 16 second lag from the time I press the send/receive button in Outlook to the time any emails begin downloading. If anyone has any insight into this issue please let me know. |
