Default adding attachments in outlook 2003

i found that message that explain exactly the problem i have, but there
was no answers. does any one knows ?:

"This is a strange one. When I am writing an email and want to add a
file as
an attachment I click on "Insert", "File" and the Insert File window
appears
with no problem, but when I click on the dropdown box to select another
directory it takes ages to progress to the next directory. This happens
with
every directory I choose until I get to the one I want and then I can
insert
the file fine.
It actually takes minutes between selecting directories.
It used to work fine.
No viruses detected. "

it works fine in windows explorer or other software...
it is outlook 2003

thanks !
