I'm having the following issue with Outlook 2016 in Windows 10:

Outlook's "Add Account" dialogue changed the other day... Used to look like this:

Now I get this:

Then I get an error like this:

Outlook doesn't ask for my password.

I unsuccessfully tried adding 3 or 4 other emails. It asks for a password when trying to add a new account for my juno email, but it still doesn't work.

I tried "Allow less secure apps" and 2-factor authentication / app password. No joy.

Any ideas?

I'm facing the same problem, while trying to setup a POP acount type. The same error message appeared! In my case I was asked to put username and password.

I'm using Outlook 2016 (version 1706, Build 8229.2073). We need to find a workaround or Microsoft needs to release a fix.

I rolled back to the previous build, and now I get the old dialog and am able to add an account.

The add account wizard was added on July 28, 2017 according to this page:

Problem solved by creating a new profile from "Control Panel" -> "Mail".
