Default sharing Calendars

I have recently taken over a team of people and I am looking for the best option in order for me to view the calendars belong to each and every member of the team. I don't really want to create any more work for them by having to input the same info in more than one calendar.

1. Should I create a new calendar and share it with the team, then ask them to use it from now?

2. Should I get them to share their calendars with me with and set them all in an overlay view?

Your help and suggestions are more than welcome.

I am working on an exchange server and using MS Outllook 2010

I'd recommend option 2. It's what I've done with statutory/public holiday calendars. I have one calendar for each country where we have people or clients and having individual calendars allows you to select/deselect on a per calendar/per individual basis.
