Underline in Outlook doesn't work.
When replying to an email in Outlook in Office 2016 the underline feature does not work. Bold and Italics work but not Underline. Any thoughts please?

Hello,
Outlook usually makes use of the format in original message sent you by another user. Suppose, someone sends you a plain or Simple Text message, Outlook prefers to reply using similar plain Text which does not support any Formatting facilities. Well, I believe it's a good way to reply a sender in the format they used while sending the message. If you wish to change the format, click More >> Move >> Other Actions and choose Edit Message. You will then see the Format Text tab and you can use formatting features like bold underline that you wish to apply. Hopefully, it will help to resolve your problem. Thanks & Regards, Anjlua |

Anjlua, thank you for your reply, much appreciated. I have Office and Outlook 2016 and I think it may be displaying in a different way to your Office 2013. If I reply to a message that has been sent in Plain Text and I click Format and change to HTML underline works. If I receive a message in HTML and reply underline does not work however Bold and Italics work. It also looks as though if I reply and then re-send the message in HTML I am able to use Underline before re-sending the message. I think there must be a fault with the programme.

At last I have the answer to this. I have discovered that in options, mail, stationery and fonts, replying to emails, underline was set to white. How that happened I do not know.

Lol! I forgot about this. Thank you!!! I remember this happening before, and thought it must've been a patch update or something? But it's working now....
