Default Message waiting to be sent

I have a new install of Microsoft Office 2016 and Outlook has been working perfectly. I have many pop3 email accounts set up. Not all are able to send from my present location as they are connected to a different ISP therefore cannot send, but I am able to receive all emails from all accounts. The other day I inadvertently sent an email with one of the accounts that cannot send from my present location. The email disappeared from the outbox but is apparently still stuck as it continues to try to send that email but cannot. How can I clear a stuck email that I cannot see? I have used every version of MS Outlook as far back as I can remember and when this happens, the email normally stays in the Outbox and I can simply delete it - but with this version of Outlook - the email has disappeared but is still trying to send. Can someone please help?

I have tried changing the name of the .srs file and that just made Outlook inoperable.

All ISPs that I am aware of provide alternative port settings for their SMTP servers (frequently port 587) which should allow them to work no matter where you are or which ISP you are connected to.

As for the stuck mesage see if https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663435 helps.

Thank you gmayor for your reply. Yes, you are correct that most ISP providers have alternate port settings and I have utilized many of them on my other email accounts (I have around 8 or 9 configured into Microsoft Outlook) but for this particular account, I have never found a way to "send" from it unless I was physically attached to the ISP not even port 587. Unfortunately that is the email account I mistakenly used to send an email from and it kept trying to send and also disappeared from the outbox. The other link you provided refers to deleting an email when you can actually see it in the outbox which I had always been able to do in the past.

What I finally decided trying was to simply delete that email account and then re-install the email account and that did fix the problem. By deleting the account - apparently the invisible email got deleted as well. That account is now working just fine again so now I know what to do if it happens again. I appreciate your help.
