Default Outlook mix-up

Hi all. I need some help regarding my outlook acc and my wifes, its probably a simple fix but we are old and cannot figure it out. According to the BBC and other popular press, it has been reported that at 3/5/16 some of Microsofts customer details were stolen recently and they have surfaced in certain distasteful Russian circles offered up for sale, as a result, my wife and I would like to change our passwords to bolster security. I have logged onto my acc and changed my acc password no probs, but when my wife signs into HER acc and tries to change her password details, it is asking her for MY outlook email address and password. It seems to me that somewhere we have linked her acc to mine. Can anyone tell us how to seperate our accounts. Thanks for any help.
