Excel attachments open up blank

Hi

A user has an issue opening Excel attachments in Outlook 2013 on an HP Pro 3405 Windows 7 64bit computer



The first time the user double clicks on the attachment, Excel opens up with a blank page (all grey, no grid)

All subsequent attempts to open the same attachment will succeed
If copied onto the desktop, it opens fine.
I have tried disabling ESET Nod32 antivirus
I have unchecked the option ignoring other applications that use DDE
I have tried disabling the protected mode for external sources
I have removed or disabled Excel Addins
I have repaired Office 2013
I have set Excel to run in Administrator mode
I have disabled hardware graphics acceleration
I have renamed the Office Software Protection Platform Service tokens
I have reassociated Excel files to Excel.exe

any other ideas ?
