Default make a .csv file of Address Book Outlook 2016

I have tried to make a .csv file of my Address Book in Outlook 2016. Have been unable to do that. I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I get as far as choosing where to send the export, and I cannot get any place to send the file.
Once I followed the export to excel and it did export about 20 of the addresses, but never was able to get the complete address book containing 268 names. And Excel is not a file I want or can use.

I want to put the .csv file into a thumb drive, and also into an external backup.
I need "baby steps" please. I have googled and tried everything that I have found.
Thanks for you help.

From Outlook 2016
File > Open & Export > Import and Export (select Export to a File) > Next > Comma Separated Values > Next > Select Contacts > Next > Save Exported File as (browse for a folder and give it a name). Save the file.

Unhappy .csv file

I have tried to do what you say, but cannot make it work. I can never get it to "save". I choose a folder, but it does not work.
Thanks for trying, but I am at a loss to make your instructions work.

I cannot get the "Browse" to work. I choose a folder I want, click on it, but nothing happens...there is no "OK" or anything else to let me choose it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much for the images.

Did you enter a filename in the browse dialog, as shown in the first illustration. You are browsing for a file not a folder. If the file doesn't exist the process creates the named file.

I gave it a name as you did, and chose a folder I created on the Desktop, only way it would do anything. BUT, it only copied about 20 of the names, not the 268 that are in the Contacts. How do I get it to copy all? I have only one list of Contacts in my Outlook. Thanks for helping me.
