IMAP setup

When I delete items in Outlook 2013 they go into the TRASH folder instead of the DELETED folder. Then, randomly the TRASH folder gets emptied. There have been occasions where I needed to go back to some of those emails.

Question 1: How do I stop att.net from emptying the TRASH folder?

or, better yet

Question 2: How can I make Outlook 2013 send deleted items into my DELETED folder, instead of the TRASH folder?

Currently, each day I have to remember to go into the TRASH folder and move all the emails into my DELETED folder so I won't loose them.
