Animation and Auto Playing of Sound Files in Email

I want to be able to insert an animated GIF in an email and have it actual animate when the recipient opens the email. Similarly, I want to be able to trigger the playing of a sound file when an email is opened and to allow the recipient to trigger the playing of a sound file by clicking an icon or picture inserted in the email.



I read somewhere that there were problems doing this in 2007 but no information as to how to overcome those problems.

Anyone know how to do this (and to work for the recipient regardless of their email client or version)?
